Supporting Life's Journeys Campaign and Mentoring and Befriending Recognition Awards 2010
6 Oct 2010

Get involved in this new campaign to raise awareness of the value of mentoring and befriending

The UK wide campaign Supporting Life's Journeys launches this month. Supporting Life's Journeys is a UK wide movement bringing together thousands of people who support mentoring and befriending behind a common purpose to communicate the value of mentoring and befriending to funders and encourage continued investment in these vital services. We all know that mentoring and befriending makes a real difference to those whose lives are touched by the support they receive. However, the impact they make is always communicated in a unified way.

The campaign is supported by the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation, Department of Work and Pensions, European Commission, Scottish Mentoring Network, Befriending Network Scotland, The Poverty Alliance, Scottish Government, Welsh Assembly Government, Mentoring and Befriending Wales, Volunteer Now and Northern Ireland Assembly.

The campaign runs from September 2010 until the end of the year and will be officially launched during Mentoring and Befriending Campaign Launch Week taking place from 4th October 2010. Events are taking place in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff as part of the European Year 2010 for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. The events are designed to increase dialogue between potential investors, projects, volunteers and service users.

Supporting Life's Journeys success depends on YOU getting involved, so sign up now to show your support for mentoring and befriending: www.supportinglifesjourneys.org.uk

A Supporting Life's Journeys Campaign Toolkit has also been developed which details the many different ways that you can get involved, from small to large scale.
