Voluntary Youth Sector Grants
The Voluntary Youth Sector Grants are able to provide up to £2,000 to constituted voluntary and community groups for activities, facilities and services for the benefit of young people aged between 11 and 25 years that are living in the City and County of Swansea.
The aim of the Voluntary Youth Sector Grants is to provide grants to support the work of voluntary youth work provision in Swansea, strengthening their ability to deliver services in line with the Youth Work Curriculum Statement for Wales (2007) and Extending Entitlements (see documents in the 'resources' column on this page for more information)
Applications can be for up to £2,000 and can be only for revenue funding, such as project or running costs.
The list below gives examples of what can be funded although this is not exclusive:
- Day to day costs of running a project such as admin or utility costs
- Venue or transport hire for young people's activities
- Training for young people or those working with them
- Staff salaries to support activities or projects for young people e.g. additional staff hours for a residential or to support new youth provision
- Volunteer expenses to enable young people to lead and manage activities for other young people
The applications are now open, with the next deadline at 4.00pm on Friday 30th September 2011. Completed applications with correct paperwork to be returned to Felicitie Walls, 7 Walter Road, Swansea, SA1 5NF. Late applications will NOT be accepted.
All applications will be assessed jointly by SCVS and City & County of Swansea Youth Service and decisions will be made and communicated to applicants within 3 weeks of the closing date.
