Swansea Bay Deprived Area Fund Third Round now open for applications
1 - 15 Feb 2010

SWANSEA BAY DEPRIVED AREA FUND - FOURTH ROUND NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS:

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: 5pm, Monday 15th February 2010

Applications to: grants@carmarthenshire.gov.uk by 5pm.

Swansea Bay Deprived Areas Fund - Sponsored by the DWP and the Welsh Assembly Government and managed on their behalf by Swansea Council For Voluntary Service and Carmarthenshire County Council.

In addition to the information contained in the DAF Outcomes Framework document, the DAF Grants Panel identified the following potential gaps in provision which applicants may wish to consider:

  • Innovative local community based outreach activities which attract economically inactive individuals to become engaged in work focussed activities
  • Focussed training initiatives which engage with economically inactive individuals, enhance their employability and make them more work ready
  • Transport initiatives which make it possible for people more remote from where workplaces are sited to get to and from work – including access to driving skills.
  • Transitional Employment Initiatives (TEI's) designed and delivered by communities

For your further information - the following list of scoring criteria is used by the DAF Panel when assessing applications. It may be helpful to you when considering your potential application:

  • Contribution of the project to meeting the DAF Fund themes and challenges?
  • Is there clear and compelling evidence of need for the proposed project?
  • Does this project avoid duplication with other projects?
  • Does this project provide value for money?
  • Does this project encourage participation by people who would not normally get involved?
  • Are you confident that the applicant organisation can deliver all aspects of this project? (consider engagement, delivery, monitoring, record keeping, admin etc)
  • Is there clear evidence of consultation & collaboration with others within this project?

All DAF forms, which include further information and guidance for applicants, are available to download from 'Resources' below.
