Have you got a small amount of time and a large amount of passion to help people with learning disabilities improve their lives?
Your Voice is a small charity, based in Swansea, covering the Swansea and Neath Port Talbot areas. Our current annual turnover is around £170,000.
We provide advocacy services for people with learning disabilities. Historically we have concentrated on adults with learning disabilities. We are looking now to extend our recent involvement with children as well as continue with adults.
Recent trustee changes have seen a vacancy for someone with a marketing / fundraising background. Ideally the other trustee would have a background relating to children with learning disabilities. For both positions it is essential the candidates have a passion for wanting to help people with learning disabilities. Previous experience working within the third sector environment is not essential.
There are monthly management committee meetings held in Swansea (mainly on the first Tuesday of the month) starting at 6.15pm. Successful candidates would be expected to commit to these and the time necessary to read the papers beforehand. There will be other small duties during the year but they are not considered onerous.
The positions are voluntary although reasonable travel expenses will be paid.
Further information can be obtained from our website: www.yourvoiceadvocacy.org.uk or by ringing either Helen Callaghan on 01792 646573 or Steve Powell on 07746 874200.
