The Voluntary Youth Sector Grants are able to provide up to £2000 to constituted voluntary and community groups for activities, facilities and services for the benefit of young people aged between 11 and 25 years that are living in the City and County of Swansea.
The aim of the Voluntary Youth Sector Grants is to provide grants to support the work of voluntary youth work provision in Swansea, strengthening their ability to deliver services in line with the Youth Work Curriculum Statement for Wales (2007) and Extending Entitlements (see attached guidance information for more info)
Applications can be for both revenue and capital funding or a combination of both.
The list below gives examples of what can be funded although this is not exclusive:
- Supporting young peoples activities e.g. sports, arts, residentials, trips etc
- Opportunities for young people to lead and manage activities for other young people
- Start up costs for a new young person led youth group or forum
- Purchase of equipment directly impacting on young peoples increased activities
- Activities that encourage healthier life-styles or build self-esteem and confidence in young people
The applications are now open, with the next deadline at 5pm on the 1st September 2010.
Completed applications to be returned to Felicitie Walls, 7 Walter Road, Swansea, SA1 5NF. Late applications will NOT be accepted.
All applications will be assessed jointly by SCVS and City & County of Swansea Youth Service and decisions will be made and communicated to applicants within 2 weeks of the closing date.
