Compact Small Grants
Compact Small Grants of up to £1,000 are available for properly constituted voluntary and community groups for activities, facilities and services for the benefit of people living in the City and County of Swansea.
The fund will provide an accessible and flexible source of funding in particular to small voluntary & community groups who may not be at the stage of making larger applications. Priority will be given to groups with no paid staff.
What can be funded?
Applications can be for both revenue and capital costs. We particularly welcome applications for capital costs where they help to increase the sustainability of an organisation.
The list below gives examples of what can be funded although this is not exclusive:
- Start up costs for new groups or new activities or services
- Training courses for volunteers and management committee members
- Equipment
- Translation costs
- Actions to improve the built or natural environment for local people
- Activities that encourage healthier life-styles or build self-esteem
All grants must be spent within 12 months.
Application Process
All applicants will complete the application form (available in MS Word on right of screen) that can be submitted at any time during the grant programme (hard copy or by email).
All applications will be assessed jointly by SCVS and City & County of Swansea.
Decisions will in most cases be made within one month.
When we are considering your application we may contact you for more information about your group or activity. We may also contact your referee.
