ABMU Health Board Review of Voluntary/Third Sector Service Level Agreements (SLA)

ABMU Health Board currently commissions a range of services from the Third Sector. Many of the contracts have been in place for a number of years, being inherited by the Health Board from predecessor organisations.

In light of the development of the Health Board's 5 Year Quality, Service, Workforce and Financial Framework ' Changing for the Better' and the draft 2011-14 Health, Social Care and Well Being Strategies in each locality area, there is a timely opportunity to take stock of existing SLA's and to consider how the Third Sector can help ABMU to acheive their ambitions to ensure that resources invested within the Third Sector are used in the most effective and appropriate way to meet current challenges.

A paper prepared by the three Locality Directors, Dorothy Edwards (Bridgend), Chris Jones (Swansea) and Hilary Dover (Neath Port Talbot) and sponsered by Alexandra Howells (Director of Primary, Community and Mental Health Services) was presented at a recent ABMU Board Meeting. The paper provides further detail about the background to the review and proposed process.
