Swansea Youth Bank is ready to roll out the funding for this financial year (2010/11) and intends to take a different approach to distributing the funds. This year Swansea Youth Bank will be holding a Funding Event for applicants to come and pitch directly to the Youth Bank panel.

Swansea Youth Bank is a youth led grant giving panel that provides grants of up to £2000 for young people to take action in their own communities.

Eligibility for funding remains the same as last year, with the following as essential requirements:

· The project will be situated in Swansea

· The project will be fully youth-led

· Your group is made up of at least 3 people between the ages of 11-25

· Your project will encourage and support youth volunteering (not necessarily new opportunities)

· Your project must have a positive impact on the wider community

· You have formed a group and have a set of rules (A template copy is available on the right)

The SWANSEA YOUTH BANK FUNDING EVENT will take place in mid Nov (date to be confirmed). Attendance will be by invitation only.

At this event attendees will have the opportunity to find out more about the Swansea Youth Bank, including meeting the panel and learning about the funding process. There will also be the opportunity to speak to successfully funded projects, find out about Millennium Volunteers Accreditation and how to get involved in other volunteering opportunities.
