St John Cymru LogoTo mark Child Safety Week (June 3rd – 9th), St John Cymru are running free, 2-hr Child and Infant First Aid courses during the week.

Each year, more than thirty thousand children under age five need to go to hospital after having an accident. 43,000 children under age 4 are injured or killed in the kitchen. The short awareness session will take you through how to administer vital lifesaving skills and the chance to try it out on our child or infant mannequins.

The courses also help provide you with the knowledge and confidence you need to deal with an emergency situation.

Who is it for?

Parents, Siblings, Grandparents or anyone who comes into contact with children and wants to know the basics.
No previous first aid experience required.

This course however is not suitable for those responsible for delivery first aid in the workplace - for workplace training they recommend the full Paediatric First Aid training course

What will you learn?

  • Assess an incident
  • Treating an unresponsive child or infant
  • Recovery position
  • Resuscitation
  • Choking
