An introductory course  to learn about setting up simple financial systems within your organisation. This interactive course will give participants the opportunity to work through practical examples and ask questions relating to implementation within their own organisation.

The course is written at a basic level and intended for those who have little or no experience of bookkeeping within an organisation, it is also suitable for those who wish to review their systems and refresh their knowledge of good practice in relation to record keeping.

The course is taking place within Trustee’s Week, though the learning content will be suitable for anyone with an interest in or responsibility for Financial Management within a third sector organisation.

Course objectives:

  • Understand basic accounting terms and concepts
  • Set up and maintain a simple bookkeeping system
  • Establish a petty cash system
  • Use the system to produce basic financial reports
  • Understand the legal requirements for reporting in relation to their organisation.

Course Fees:

  • SCVS Members - Full Day Course - £20
  • Non SCVS Members / Individuals - Full Day Course - £150
