Getting around Swansea logoCome and talk about how we can collaborate to improve local transport options for communities around Swansea – open to local residents, community leaders, organisations, local businesses, and partners - anyone who shares an interest in solving transport challenges for people in Swansea.

People across the city and county of Swansea struggle to get around, facing challenges in accessing the services, activities and relationships that are essential for their health and wellbeing.

Whether getting to the shops, appointments, leisure activities, employment or visiting friends and family, if you don't have access to a car, your options for getting around Swansea might be pretty limited.

Wales' decarbonisation agenda also means we find to find greener, cleaner ways of getting around, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels, and promoting sustainable transport options.

How can we support people to get around in a way that is better for the planet, better for air quality, and better for our own health and wellbeing?

A number of partner organisations have come together to try and help, with a project supported by Swansea Council with funding from UK Government Community Renewal Funding.

Join us in the Arts Wing of the Grand Theatre, Swansea, to connect with others across the county to share perspectives and ideas for community-led transport solutions.

We are gathering to discuss the issues and challenges that communities are facing, and to explore solutions and ideas to make things better:

  • Hear about the themes, issues and ideas arising from our community conversations so far.
  • Have your say - what are YOUR transport challenges?
  • Learn about community initiatives from across Wales and beyond - how have others tackled their local transport challenges, what works, and what might work for communities in Swansea?
  • Meet potential collaborators and partners, connect with others who want to create solutions, and access support and advice for community-led initiatives.
  • Help develop solutions - be part of discussions, and hear about emerging local projects, including how you and your community could get involved.

Everyone welcome - This event is for local residents, community leaders, organisations, local businesses, and partners - anyone who shares an interest in solving transport challenges for people in Swansea, and reducing our dependence on private car ownership. We are particularly keen to welcome people with (a) transport challenges, and/or (b) ideas about solutions.

Swansea Grand Theatre, Thursday 7th July 2022 - arrive from 10am for a 10:30am start (the event ends at 2pm and includes a FREE buffet lunch)
