Leonard Cheshire LogoIn a first for the charity, Leonard Cheshire Disability are opening a brand new coffee shop for the people of Swansea in St Marys Square, ‘The Social Bean’ their first ever social enterprise coffee shop.

The coffee shop will also host an IT suite where the will be working with anyone who has a disability over the age of 16 to develop confidence and enhance digital skills.

Their work will include:

Group sessions

1:1 support

Open access

Monthly events with guest speakers

VR 360 experiences

Organisations and agencies are invited to an open day on Tuesday 21st January, where the IT suite will be open all day for you to call in, take a look at the equipment and check out all they have to offer.

There will also be a diary of events available, and they are happy to discuss any group sessions that you may wish to book either at the Social Bean or at your own venue.

Popular topics for group sessions include:

  • Social Media (including the benefits of social media, how to deal with trolls, privacy settings and digital hate crime)
  • Staying safe online (including spotting viruses, having strong passwords, emails and secure sites)
  • Accessing and reporting using the council website

They are very happy to discuss any other digital topics that you may be interested in.

The new venue also holds a meeting room which can be booked by organisations.
