Making Sense of Poverty - Face to face Please note the slight change of time - initially advertised as 9.30 - 12.30, will now take place 10 - 1. What exactly does it mean when we say “poverty is increasing”? Who counts as being “in poverty” and who doesn’t? What causes poverty in the UK, and what are the most effective ways to help people escape its grip? These questions are often answered with opinions and ideas, rather than with facts. “Making Sense of Poverty” will give you knowledge about the measures and the drivers of UK poverty, so you feel more confident to discuss it, work with it and advocate for those trapped in it.
