People who learn mindfulness have been shown to be more responsive in the face of all sorts of difficulties – including growing older and living with a long-term health condition.

The dates for this 8 week course are: Tuesday Afternoons on 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th February and 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th March, 1 - 3pm.

Cost: £80 for the course.

Those who have completed a course say that what they learn has opened up the possibility of living life more fully – this is because the process of learning mindfulness helps with stepping away from struggling with life’s problems and choosing ways of responding, rather than reacting, when life is challenging.

Each session of the course explores a different theme and includes a guided mindfulness practice and opportunities for learning how mindfulness can help us with managing stress, low mood and anxiety and gently turning towards difficult experience.  Most of are used to reacting in ways which cause difficulties to escalate and as we learn to recognise this, we can make different choices.

As well as attending each session of the course, each person makes a commitment to practising at home each day – there’s lots of support for the learning process with CDs and handouts to take home each week and people enjoy the experience of being in a supportive group.

The course is delivered by a qualified mindfulness trainer, who adheres to the UK Good Practice Guidelines for Teaching Mindfulness and who is listed on the UK Listing of Mindfulness Teachers.
