National Safeguarding Week takes place each year (in 2020 it's 16th – 20th November), and this year’s theme as ‘Stay Safe, Stay Connected’.

Safeguarding is everybody’s business and enables people to live their lives free from harm, abuse and neglect.

Taking place each year, National Safeguarding Week raises awareness of the importance of safeguarding with members of the public and within our own organisations.

Do you have an event planned to raise the profile of safeguarding during the week, or could you organise something for your staff, trustees or volunteers?

Let us know if you are organising anything so it can be added to the regional calendar of events which is generated each year by West Glamorgan Safeguarding Board (www.wbsb.co.uk). As long as your event takes place in the West Glamorgan area it can be included, whether anyone can attend or if it’s just for your own organisation. Events can also be included if it’s ongoing or held just before or after safeguarding week.

Some examples of events may include: online supervision sessions, safeguarding training or an online event for volunteers with a guest speaker on a safeguarding topic.

To submit your event for inclusion, please email Clare Hopkins at SCVS on [email protected] by the end of October, telling us:

  • Date & Time
  • Event Title
  • Aim of the event
  • Link to the event
  • Contact details
  • Who the event is for - whether it’s open or closed to people outside your organisation
