This two-day course provides a foundation in practical project management for Third sector organisations.

By attending the course you will cover a range of project management principles and practical tools, and focus on techniques to develop your skills for setting up, running and managing projects.

Participants will need to have a current or potential project idea to bring to the course, which they will focus on during the programme.

This course is for anybody who has responsibility for developing and running projects as part of their every day work.

Course objectives:

  • Developing your understanding and ability to apply the project planning cycle
  • Considering how you set the project in the context of your organisation's work
  • Enhancing your capability around project risk assessment and developing contingency plans
  • Identifying and enhancing how you work with project stakeholders
  • Gaining confidence in monitoring and evaluating project success
  • Exploring, and planning for, project exit strategies
