SCVS Annual General Meeting 2023

Online, 4.30 – 5pm, Tuesday 12th December 2023

We invite representatives of our member organisations to join us online on 12th December for our Annual General Meeting 2023.

Following the death of our Chair, Alun Evans, in September; the Trustee Board have decided that this year’s AGM will be a brief business meeting, and open to SCVS Member organisations only.

SCVS member organisations have the power to influence our work and governance by casting their votes at our AGM. We would be delighted if you, or another representative of your organisation, could join us on 12th December to hear about our work during 2022-23.

Taking Inspiration from Human Rights: A Workshop for Civil Society

This workshop will focus on what it means to adopt a Human Rights Approach, and how we can adopt this approach in our work. It will also help us to understand how we can use a Human Rights Approach to lever change and hold public authorities to account for human rights.

Involve

Involve has a variety of schemes that engage people in need in Swansea. Involve recruit, train and support volunteers to be in a befriending/ Independent visitor role on a one to one or in a group setting to meet the needs of individual children, young people, families, adults with various needs or older people.

Transcend is a mental health peer mentoring project that is funded by Swansea Bay University Health Board. It provides volunteering opportunities for individuals with lived experience of mental ill health.
Mental Health Development Service

The Mental Health Development Service at SCVS facilitates joint working between voluntary organisations and statutory organisations. The service enables voluntary organisations to have their views taken into account when decisions are made regarding the planning and delivery of mental health services across the Swansea Bay University . The development service also supports and facilitates the local voluntary sector Mental Health Forum and provides mental health related information and resources.
