Swansea Council Logo 2017This multi-agency course is a basic introduction to Safeguarding aimed at individuals who are new to social care, or those individuals who wish to refresh themselves in the basic understanding of Safeguarding.

Participants will become familiar with the major categories of abuse and some of the potential signs and indicators, how to support individuals who disclose abuse and the procedures for reporting concerns about suspected abuse or harm.


Participants will be able to:

  • Recognise who is an adult at risk
  • Identify some signs and symptoms of adult abuse
  • Respond to a disclosure of actual or alleged abuse
  • Report a concern, disclosure or allegation of abuse
  • Define their roles and responsibilities in relation to current Safeguarding legislation and policy

Training will be delivered via 2 modules on 7th and 8th December, between 9.30am and 12pm (includes a break). Participants will be requested to log on 10 minutes before to address any technical issues. 

Please note that the meeting will be hosted by Swansea Council and will be secure.

Attendees must have access to a suitable device (computer / tablet) with access to a camera and microphone to enable participation. Attendees must be able to access Microsoft Teams.
