Dementia Friends logoDementia Friends is about giving more people an understanding of dementia and the small things that could make a difference to people living in their community.

There are currently 2.3 million Dementia Friends in the U.K. with the know-how to help people with dementia feel understood and included in their community.

Elaine, the SCVS Dementia and Carer Project Worker can deliver a Dementia Friends session to your organisation or community group at a time and place to suit your needs - lasting an hour, sessions can be delivered to small or large groups, and will give your team an understanding of what it's like to live with dementia, and how to turn that understanding into action.

Would your organisation or community group like to become Dementia Friends?

Anyone of any age can be a Dementia Friend. It’s about giving more people an understanding of dementia and the small things that could make a difference to people living in their community. It makes such a huge difference to people living with dementia if those around them know what dementia is, and how it might affect people.

Session objectives:

  • Find out about the Dementia Friends Scheme and how to become a Dementia Friend
  • Consider how to review your delivery environment and identify how age/dementia friendly it is
  • Enable people with dementia to live well in their community

Sessions can be delivered at a time and place to suit your needs.
