Dynamic. Responsive. Essential. We are Swansea’s Third Sector Over 140 people attended the second annual SCVS member event on 28th June at the Liberty Stadium, networking, taking part in consultation sessions and hearing from key representatives about strategies and issues which affect their work. Representatives of SCVS member organisations enjoyed the opportunity to network with colleagues and find out about the ‘Journey of Change’ that SCVS has embarked on in the morning, and then were joined by key personnel from City & County of Swansea, local Councillors, and representatives from other public bodies such as Fire, SW Police and educational institutions for group discussions themed around the Well Being Goals. The day also included presentations from the Deputy Leader of C&C Swansea, Cllr Clive Lloyd on the new City Deal, Head of Service for Poverty & Prevention Rachel Moxey outlining the new draft Poverty and Prevention strategies (currently out for consultation – click here for more information), and an in depth session with Director of People Chris Sivers and Partnership Performance and Commissioning Manager Jane Whitmore to begin the process of establishing a Third Sector Compact for Swansea. SCVS staff and Trustees would like to thank everyone who took time out to attend on Wednesday and for their contributions on during the day. A report of the findings will be circulated to members in the next few weeks. If you’re not a member of SCVS, and you’re a constituted Third Sector organisation offering benefit in C&C Swansea, click here for information on how to apply for free SCVS membership now.
