QAVS Collage 2021HM Lord-Lieutenant Louise Fleet has a message about why it’s more important than ever to nominate a deserving group for the QAVS in 2022.

“The recent Volunteers’ Week has highlighted all the great things about our wonderful voluntary sector in West Glamorgan and our fabulous volunteers of all ages, every one giving us precious gifts of time and kindness. We have so much to be thankful for.

This year, we had three new winners of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, Matthew’s House, Rising Stars Theatre Company and the Friends of the City & County of Swansea Botanical Complex; they so deserved their awards and we are all very proud of them and of all the previous winners. But there are many more volunteer groups in West Glamorgan who would also be worthy winners – so get nominating!

Louise Fleet HM Lord-Lieutenant of West Glamorgan - May 20202022 is The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee but it is also the 20th anniversary of QAVS. Let’s make 2022 an extra special year for recognising our amazing volunteers by having even more winners of this prestigious award.

More information on eligibility and how to nominate a group can be found on the QAVS web site by clicking here

If your group is eligible, please get someone to nominate you (if this is an issue, please contact SCVS by email: [email protected]scvs.org.uk).

The closing date for nominations for the 2022 Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the 15th September 2021."
