National Safeguarding Week 2018 – Tell us about your events National Safeguarding Week, which each year raises the profile of safeguarding, reminds us that safeguarding is everybody’s business and alerts us to various types of abuse and the signs to recognise; takes place from 12th - 16th November - The theme for the Western Bay Region is “Exploitation”. The Western Bay Safeguarding Boards (WBSB) are putting together a calendar of events related to safeguarding for the Western Bay Region and would like Third Sector events to be included. Do you have any planned events to raise the profile of Safeguarding during that week within your organisation? This may be an event running for your volunteers only or an event that could be opened up for other organisations to attend. Events could include: Safeguarding training sessions, a speaker for your staff team on a safeguarding topic, a supervision session for your volunteers, a stand in a supermarket raising the profile of safeguarding and your service etc. If you do have any events planned, please contact Clare Hopkins at SCVS: [email protected] who will pass this information on to the WBSB (please remember to add if it’s an open event or closed for a specific group).
