STOPP logoSTOPP are a newly established group set up with an ambitious vision to make Swansea a ‘Period Positive’ city which includes the provision of menstrual products freely in all public facilities such as schools, libraries, community centres and other venues.

They also exist to campaign politically on this issue, believing ultimately towels, pads or other things like ‘mooncups’ should be free and that there should definitely be no ‘tampon tax’.

They want to raise awareness of ‘plastic free periods’ and sustainable solutions, to improve education about periods and help to breakdown taboos around menstrual health and finally to support international efforts to end period poverty around the world.

STOPP are reaching out to friends in the voluntary sector to see if they can support the people you work with by supplying free period products either in a box/basket/bag you could put in your toilets or other space for people to help themselves to what they need or we could bag up smaller packs of donations for individuals.

They are also looking for sites to act as "donation stations" where the public can drop off products for them. Moving forward, they hope to run a series of talks, reusable pad making workshops and other activities designed to raise awareness of period poverty and menstrual health issues.
