Volunteers Week logo bilingualPlans are shaping up to make this a great one!

SCVS would love to know if your organisation is planning any celebrations or volunteer gatherings during the week, so we can list the range of Thank you events happening locally. We would also like to receive news of and photos from these volunteers week events (click here to jump to planned events by other third sector organisations).

SCVS Volunteer projects are having a Volunteer get together at SCVS on Thursday 1st June.  The aim will be to introduce volunteers from Involve, Transcend, Swansea Youth Bank Mental Health & Wellbeing Volunteering Project and HWB Abertawe, as well as SCVS' own trustees to each other, have fun, get some photos and share some celebratory cake or a healthier alternative!

Swansea Volunteering Forum in association with UWTSD, are holding a photographic exhibition at Creative Bubble on Cradock Street in the city centre for a few days at the beginning for Volunteers Week featuring photographs of volunteers of Swansea Volunteer Forum membership organisations, in a range of roles.  The photos are currently being taken by UWTSD masters degree photography students with the aim of showcasing this usually out of sight pool of local might.

SCVS and Swansea Volunteering Forum are also underlining the importance of Health & Wellbeing to volunteers and volunteers managers by holding an invitation only activity day at YMCA during Volunteers Week. The event will feature activities such as yoga, mindfulness, nutrition and walking.

On Tuesday 6th June, Swansea Volunteering Forum meeting, open to members, will be discussing Volunteer motivation, with the aim of improving our volunteer manager practice and aiding recruitment and retention of volunteers.

Should you wish to join Swansea Volunteering Forum to take advantage of its member events and meetings please click here.

We are also hoping to spread the word about the difference made by volunteers in local press and radio coverage, including on the new weekly Volunteering slot on Phil Hoyles Swansea Sound show.
