SCVS run a variety of projects which fall under the category of health social care and wellbeing, as well as working with the public sector to represent the third sector, and individuals to ensure that their voices are heard. Black, Asian Minority Ethnic Outreach Programme across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot

Coronavirus has had a huge and adverse impact on people, while health and social care messages have not been effectively disseminated to B.A.M.E communities. This includes key public health messages like social distancing and testing and contract tracing measures. Read more

Penderi Young People’s Wellbeing Project

Penderi Young People’s Wellbeing Project (PYPWP) offers a brief intervention service based within GP surgeries. It connects people to non-medical sources to improve their health and wellbeing, which can include activities, opportunities, or connections to community groups and voluntary organisations.   • Mental Health Development Service

    Mental Health Development Service

    The Mental Health Development Service at SCVS facilitates joint working between voluntary organisations and statutory organisations. The service enables voluntary organisations to have their views taken into account when decisions are made regarding the planning and delivery of mental health services across the ABMU health board. The development service also supports and facilitates the local voluntary sector Mental Health Forum and provides mental health related information and resources.

  • Swansea Youth Bank

    Swansea Youth Bank is a youth led, grant giving panel of volunteers that provides grants to groups of young people to develop and run their own community projects across the City and County of Swansea.

    Transcend

    Transcend is a mental health peer mentoring project that is funded by Swansea Bay University Health Board. It provides volunteering opportunities for individuals with lived experience of mental ill health.
