Our training

To survive and thrive, third sector organisations need to develop and update their skills, knowledge and confidence.  We offer a wide variety of quality training towards this end to members of voluntary organisations in the Swansea area.  Both accredited and non-accredited courses are available.  Our courses are accessible and affordable.

Bespoke training

Although we offer a wide variety of courses in our open programme, there may be a course your organisation needs that is not currently available. Alternatively, you may have a group of twelve or more staff and/or volunteers who need a particular course. Our flexible bespoke courses can possibly help you in this situation. Read more

    Involve has a variety of schemes that engage people in need in Swansea. Involve recruit, train and support volunteers to be in a befriending/ Independent visitor role on a one to one or in a group setting to meet the needs of individual children, young people, families, adults with various needs or older people.

    HWB (Health&Well Being) Abertawe is a project offering practical support and advice about healthy eating to people who may never have cooked for themselves or their families, who have little or no knowledge of the nutritional value of food and who would benefit from raising their awareness of how to increase their physical activity levels.

  • Mental Health Development Service

    Mental Health Development Service

    The Mental Health Development Service at SCVS facilitates joint working between voluntary organisations and statutory organisations. The service enables voluntary organisations to have their views taken into account when decisions are made regarding the planning and delivery of mental health services across the ABMU health board. The development service also supports and facilitates the local voluntary sector Mental Health Forum and provides mental health related information and resources.

  • Swansea Youth Bank

    Swansea Youth Bank is a youth led, grant giving panel of volunteers that provides grants to groups of young people to develop and run their own community projects across the City and County of Swansea.

    Transcend is a mental health peer mentoring project that is funded by SB University Health Board. It provides volunteering opportunities for individuals with lived experience of mental health problems
