Peer Mentor – Swansea (Maternity Cover)

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week with some evening and weekend work required

Salary: £18,278 per annum

Duration: Fixed Term until 22nd February 2022, covering maternity leave and in line with the return date of the substantive post holder

Barod are looking to recruit a Peer Mentor to join the Cyfle Cymru Out of Work Peer Mentoring Service in Swansea. The post holder will mentor individuals aged 16yrs+ who have been affected by substance use or mental health towards training and employment opportunities. The post holder will also manage a caseload of participants and source training and volunteering opportunities for individuals. The post holder will work alongside a team of Peer Mentors in delivering services and outcomes for the service. The post holder will also support the Lead Peer Mentor in raising awareness of the service. The post holder will mentor volunteers and assistant peer mentors.

The post holder will source potential participants through referral routes and provide support and guidance to all participants being referred onto the project. The post holder will also assess candidates for suitability for further training and make appropriate referrals and source training and employment opportunities for a caseload of candidates with the support of an employment advisor when appropriate.
