The Welsh Government has agreed a key aim of building on and sharing good practice to improve consistency across Wales, in order to ensure positive outcomes for children and adults. Building successful partnerships between the statutory and third sectors is essential to realise the vision of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act.

This training course is the result of a partnership between the Care Council for Wales, WCVA, and local authority social services, using the best of the learning programmes already available to develop one agreed national programme. It covers everything you need to know to ensure the safeguarding of children and adults in your organisation, enabling you to establish and maintain standards that meet those required across all sectors in Wales.

Cost: £20 to SCVS member organisations.

This training will give participants the opportunity to:

  • know their own role in relation to safeguarding adults and children and young people from abuse, neglect and harm
  • understand how individuals are protected from abuse, neglect and harm
  • know how to recognise and report different types of abuse, neglect and harm
  • know the expectations placed on all practitioners to deliver the Wales Safeguarding Procedures

This online course runs over two days - 15th & 22nd November, 10am - 1pm each day, online via Zoom.
