Mental Health Forum logoThe Mental Health Forum is an umbrella group of voluntary mental health organisations working in the City and County of Swansea.

Membership is open to third sector organisations, projects and groups, which promote mental health and wellbeing and/or provide services for people with mental health problems and their carers.

The aims of the Mental Health Forum are:

  • To be a focal point for third sector organisations who work with individuals experiencing mental health problems and/or have an interest in mental health
  • To act as a force for change in services provided for people with mental health problems, and their carers.
  • To debate and promote the consideration of new and creative patterns of mental health and wellbeing services.
  • To promote high standards of service provision and good practice in mental health.

Associate membership is open to interested parties upon application to the Forum. Membership of the Forum is by organisation and any representative from an organisation can attend meetings to represent their agency. Each agency can determine who is appropriate and as such an organisation might draw their representative from users, carers, volunteers or paid workers. It is made clear by the Forum to its member organisations that the role of the person attending is as a representative of their organisation/group not as an individual. Non third sector organisations who have an interest in supporting mental health and wellbeing can also become members by application to the Forum via the Mental Health Development Officer.

The Mental Health Forum is facilitated by the Mental Health Development Service and meets bi-monthly. If you would like to join the forum or have any questions, please contact either Helen Foster or Rachael Jenkins - Mental Health Development Officers on (01792) 544021 / 544020 or e-mail [email protected] / [email protected]
