Your chance to shape the first ever National Safeguarding Training Standards Consultation is now underway on Wales’ first ever National Safeguarding Training Standards - Social Care Wales has been leading on the development of the National Safeguarding Training Standards, co-produced by a multi-agency national development group as well as other groups focused on specific aspects of the work. The National Safeguarding Training Standards were developed in response to a recognition that there are no multi-agency, national standards for safeguarding training in place; that there was a lack of consistency in the design, content and provision of safeguarding training across organisations in Wales; and that there was often confusion around the appropriate levels of safeguarding training for the workforce. Developed in line with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures, the draft standards have been designed to help make sure everyone in Wales who needs it gets consistent and high-quality safeguarding training. A draft National Safeguarding Training Standards document has now been published for consultation and is available by clicking here West Glamorgan Safeguarding Board are collating responses for the region.
