Swansea Council Logo 2017Swansea’s draft Homelessness Strategy and Action Plan 2018-22, along with the consultation survey are now available.

The consultation takes place between 3rd and 30th September 2018, and the Council are keen to hear from key stakeholders and partners who deliver services to prevent and address homelessness. Your comments and opinions are vital to ensuring that the strategy and action plan are robust and effective.

The strategy has been developed as the result of a comprehensive review of homelessness in Swansea, which has involved extensive consultation with service users, providers of support and housing services for homeless people, the general public and other key stakeholders. It sets out a detailed plan on how the Council plans to tackle homelessness in Swansea over the next four years, and includes plans for:

  • The prevention of homelessness
  • Securing accommodation for people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness
  • Provision of support for people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness

The consultation is available on-line and we would be grateful if in addition to completing it on behalf of your organisations, you could also make your service users aware of it and help and encourage them to complete the survey.

Hard copies can also be made available if required.

If you think that any of your service users would prefer face to face discussions, then two drop-in sessions have been arranged and the council officers involved in the development and delivery of the strategy will be on hand to discuss any issues.

These drop-in sessions are open to anyone with an interest in the strategy, and take place in the ‘Purple Room’ at Swansea Civic Centre (1st Floor) on:

  • 19th September 10am-12pm
  • 24th September 3pm-5pm

The Strategy Action Plan and consultation can be found on the Council’s website, click here.

If you have any groups or meetings arranged with your service users during September that you would like the Council to attend to discuss the strategy and action plan, please contact either Steve Porter ([email protected]) or Rosie Jackson ([email protected])
