Swansea Uni Consumer Panel leaflet Aug 21Population Data Science, based at Swansea University’s Medical School, conducts research that explores how biological, economic, social, and environmental factors affect the health and wellbeing of a population.

The research is for public benefit and directly informs NHS services, disease diagnosis for clinicians, and Government.

The panel of volunteers meet on the last Wednesday in January, April, June and September. They are currently considering an extra meeting in November due to the demand of public engagement in research in Wales.

They have 12 members now and are looking to recruit a further 4-6 members.

Anyone that would like to join needs to have an interest in health and research as being a patient, carer or member of the public that wants to get involved.

You do not need to be based in Swansea to join, but you do need to be based in Wales.

When someone is interested, they need to contact Claire Newman, Public Engagement Officer, by email: [email protected] to express their reason for interest before an informal interview with Claire and an existing panel member.
