The service will work specifically with crisis cases before they have been allocated a support service through the Tenancy Support Unit/Housing Options in Swansea Council.

They will provide support around preventing evictions, sourcing emergency accommodation and secure housing, benefit and debt advice, budgeting and access to longer term support options.

Support delivery; on a one-to-one and usually up to twelve weeks. Support is recovery focused, exploring the cause of housing issues with a trauma-informed approach identifying strengths and building skills/confidence to avoid future crisis.

Practical advice/support offered on; resettlement, utilities, welfare, benefits, addiction, private rented sector, homelessness and social housing applications. Where additional needs are identified, referrals are made to other agencies.

They are looking for a flexible passionate individual with an excellent knowledge of the welfare benefits system and how to apply for the various benefits. The post holder must also have a good knowledge of local and national resources, relevant housing and homelessness legislation and mental health.
