The Play and Leisure Opp Library LogoThe Play and Leisure Opportunity Library (PLOL), based in Swansea, is a unique project in Wales and the first play and leisure library for both children and adults with a disability. They are a registered charity providing specialist toys and equipment through a lending service.

The library is open to individuals and families in the community as well as Centres, clubs and professionals who support children or adults with a disability. They also offer therapeutic play sessions, advice and support for members to learn, develop new skills and maximise their well-being.

PLOL are looking for two people to join their Board of Directors to contribute to the overall responsibility for the strategic direction for the organisation.

They welcome all applications, and would be particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in Finance, HR or Service delivery (this experience is desirable but not essential). This is a fantastic opportunity to join The Play and Leisure Opportunity Library at an exciting time of change.

Currently, Directors are required to attend Board Meetings, which are held quarterly as a minimum.

This is a voluntary role. Reasonable travel costs to attend meetings or carry out duties can be reimbursed.

For further information, or to arrange an informal discussion, please visit their website: www.plol.org.uk/site/vacancies or email Hayley Wheeler at [email protected]

Closing date for applications: 25th January 2021 (Applications to be made by submitting a CV to the above e-mail address)

The Play and Leisure Opportunity Library is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff, directors and volunteers to share this commitment. The directors will not work directly with the members of the library but there may be some indirect contact. For these reasons the position is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a full chronological history of education and work will need to be submitted with the C.V.
