Swansea Community Farm is the only city Farm in Wales delivering land based volunteering activities and training that improves the health, wellbeing and confidence of  people facing disadvantage. They are recruiting for the following posts as part of their Big Lottery Funded Calon Farm For All project.

Wellbeing Support Worker

  • Responsible To: Wellbeing Officer
  • Pay Scale: £7254 per year (equivalent to £17,893 full time)
  • Hours: 15 hours per week fixed term until 31st March 2024 (with the possibility of additional hours dependent on funding)
  • Annual Leave: 28 days p.a. plus statutory bank holidays, pro rata

Responsible For: 

Supporting delivery of activities designed to improve wellbeing through practical engagement in the life of a city farm through volunteering, training, educational opportunities. To be achieved through on the ground support for the delivery of their Wellbeing focussed Big Lottery funded Calon Farm for All project to both groups and/or individuals in accordance with the Farm’s Health & Safety guidelines and Child Protection & Vulnerable Adult Policies.

Animal Wellbeing Worker

  • Responsible To: Wellbeing Officer
  • Pay Scale: SCP 20 £11 473 per year (Equivalent to £20,215, pro rata)
  • Hours: Contracted to 21 hours a week
  • This post is a fixed term post until 31st January 2022 (after successful completion of 3 month probation period).
  • Annual Leave: 28 days p.a. plus statutory bank holidays, pro rata    

Swansea Community Farm is seeking an experienced and motivated Animal Wellbeing Worker to lead on animal care and support delivery of their adult volunteer programme.

The right candidate will work alongside their volunteers, aged 16-80, and deliver Farm-based volunteering activities and training which improve the health, wellbeing and confidence of those involved. This post involves caring for the Farm’s animals and people; and training and empowering volunteers to feel confident in doing the same.

Responsible For:

Assisting in the planning, delivery and development of the Farm volunteering project, a community-led wellbeing-focussed outdoor volunteering programme. This role has particular responsibility for the Farm livestock and the volunteers who care for them. This involves support and management of new volunteers and existing volunteers and support staff. Carrying out monitoring and evaluation, liaising with other staff, trustees and stakeholders and developing the programme in a beneficiary-led manner. This post includes care of their Farm animals ranging from geese to goats including feeding, cleaning and healthcare.

Swansea Community Farm is the only city Farm in Wales and is focussed on improving wellbeing and reconnecting people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities with their food, their environment and each other.
