Swansea Centre for Deaf People LogoThe Swansea Deaf Centre is a base for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people to come and attend the various activities they may be interested in.


Caretaker

Hours: 14 per week

Salary: Minimum wage

The Caretaker will be responsible to the Hafod Centre manager.

The work involves general maintenance, painting, small repairs, regular fire alarm checks, cleaning outside the building.

You will also work at their sister site in Langland. This work will involve general maintenance, grass cutting, hedge cutting, painting, small repairs, keeping the site clean and tidy.

The successful applicant will be honest, reliable and trustworthy. The ability to communicate in BSL (British Sign Language) would be an advantage, or willingness to learn and be part of a close working team.

The successful applicant’s employment will be based on a 3-month trial period and an enhanced DBS check. If possible, please provide two referees for character references.  


Cleaner

Hours: 10 hrs per week

Salary: Minimum wage

This post is based at the Hafod Centre, and is responsible to the Centre Manager.

The successful applicant will clean throughout the building, toilets, rooms and café area. The applicant will be honest, reliable and trustworthy and able to work as part of a team. The ability to communicate in BSL (British Sign Language) would be an advantage, or willingness to learn.

Cleaning equipment will be provided by the Centre.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month trial period and a successful DBS check. They would also like you to provide two referees for character references.
