SYSHP – Support Worker SYSHP is a housing charity, which has been delivering services to vulnerable, socially excluded homeless and potentially homeless young people for 30 years. For young people at an age where they are no longer children and not quite adults, life can be pretty tough. For those who have come out of care or broken up with their families and are worried where they will live is very traumatic. SYSHP are looking for an exceptional candidate to join their Floating Support Team in Swansea. If you are looking for a role that supports young people through their transition into independent living, this could be the job for you. A working knowledge around housing management is desirable, but not essential. What is more important to us is a “can do” attitude towards teamwork and helping young people achieve their potential. Support Worker Reference: SYSHP / FS 2019 Location: Swansea Contract: Permanent Salary: £20,858 per annum Hours: 35 hours a week (core hours would be Monday to Friday 9.30 – 5pm; however flexibility is required to work outside of these hours to support young people when they need it most, there will be a rota for cover outside of core hours) Support Workers take part in the ‘1st tier’ On Call rota. Providing On Call support and advice for young people supported, with issues and emergencies they may need to deal with. This may require providing out of hours project attendance where alternatives are not possible.
