SYSHP is a homeless charity based in Swansea, which has been delivering services to vulnerable socially excluded and potentially homeless young people for over 20 years.

For young people at an age where they are no longer children and not quite adults, life can be pretty tough. For those who have come out of care or broken up with their families and are worried where they will live, it’s often unbearable.

SYSHP provide a wide range of supported housing services and a camouflaged learning programme. SYSHP works closely with a variety of agencies bringing to the partnership the significant benefits of their ability to engage and to work with the most vulnerable service users in a holistic way supporting their individual needs.

Support Assistant Maternity Cover (9 months contract) 

  • Drws Agored – 24 hour project, shift pattern
  • 38.5 hours – £16,468

  • Holidays 32 days per year including Statutory Holidays

You will be working as part of a team in a busy 24 hour staffed project and may be required to work at other 24 hour staffed SYSHP projects. You will work together to create an environment which provides young people with a feeling of security and will support young people to develop a sense of ownership and responsibility. A degree of flexibility is required for this position along with excellent communications skills and an understanding of the issues and disadvantages that face young people. You will have good communication skills and will be able to problem solve and make decisions.
