Project Assistant, Swansea Repair Space

Hours: Part time, 14 hours per week (Thursdays and Fridays. Days and hours worked may vary and flexibility is required. Weekend and evening work may occasionally be necessary, for which time off in lieu will be given.)

Salary: £22,000 per annum/pro rata

Location: Swansea

Fixed until October 2025 with the option to extend depending on funding

The Environment Centre are hiring a Project Assistant for an exciting new Swansea Repair Space project. The role will help establish and run a new repair space where members of the public can get household items, clothes, electrical and similar repaired by a group of volunteer fixers. There will also be a Library of Things which will provide low-cost lending of useful household items.

The role will be responsible for the day to day running of the repair space, working with volunteers to ensure there are fixers available when needed, collecting data from repairs, being front of house at the Swansea Repair Space and providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact for the public and project volunteers.

The new role will be joining a team of committed and hardworking staff and volunteers from the Environment Centre. The primary place of work will be the new repair space located at Swansea Community Workshops on Swansea High Street.
