Mentoring can make a real difference in the voluntary and community sector, helping people feel supported and able to move forward with their development. This short practical course is ideal for new mentors, staff and volunteers who support others, and anyone coordinating a mentoring project.

We will explore what effective mentoring looks like, practise skills and look at how to create safe, encouraging conversations that build confidence, trust and positive change.

7th October, 9.30 arrival for 9.40 - 3.45, venue will be confirmed upon booking.

Course Learning Objectives:

  • Identify where you can use mentoring
  • Be able to structure an encouraging mentoring conversation
  • Practise key mentoring skills
  • Explore boundaries and confidentiality
  • Create a personal action plan to use after the training
