Gambling & Gaming Harm Prevention: City & Guilds Assured and Certified - FREE COURSE - Online

This course aims inform, educate, safeguard and build digital resilience amongst young and vulnerable people; helping them to make informed decisions and understand the consequences around gambling and gaming and is suitable for anyone that works with or cares for young and vulnerable people, including teachers, youth workers, community volunteers and mental health specialists.

Learning Objectives - The Learner Will:

Understand why children and young people might game/gamble.
Understand what is meant by gaming/gambling related harm.
Recognise the signs of gaming/gambling related harm.
Know where to find further support.
Have increased confidence when talking to children and young people about gaming and gambling.

The Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) is an award-winning charity with a mission to prevent children and young people from experiencing gaming and gambling harms through awareness raising, education and research.

Through a portfolio of evidence-based programmes, we develop and deliver training and resources for a range of groups who have influence over children and young people. Working in partnership with GamCare, Ygam provides City & Guilds Assured training, and equips delegates with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to deliver harm prevention sessions directly to children and young people in their own settings.

Delegates gain access to over 1000 resources, including information sheets and lessons plans which are all mapped to the latest curriculum. The programme has trained thousands of professionals and helped safeguard millions of young people since it was launched in 2020.

Our education programme is City & Guilds assured and our resources are the winners of the Children and Young People Now PSHE Award 2020. In 2022, YGAM won two national awards for the important work it does to safeguard young people. These were the “Wellbeing Award” from the National Children and Young People Awards and “The Outstanding Contribution to Pastoral Care Award” from National Awards for Pastoral Care in Education.

This course is free of charge but if you fail to attend or you provide less than two week's cancellation notice will be charged a fee of £20. If you find that you are unable to attend, we do allow and encourage you to find someone to take your place on the course, If this is possible for us to do for you at the time.
