Mental Health Forum

The Swansea Mental Health Forum is an umbrella group of voluntary mental health organisations working in the City and County of Swansea which aims to establish and increase dialogue between organisations that support people with and/or have an interest in mental health and wellbeing.

The aims of the Mental Health Forum are:

To be a focal point for third sector organisations who support mental health and wellbeing.
To promote high standards of service provision and good practice in mental health.

Membership is open to any third sector organisations, projects and groups, which have an interest in and promote emotional wellbeing and mental health. If you are a non third sector organisation who would like to join, please get in touch with:

Diverse Communities Outreach Programme across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot

Coronavirus has had a huge and adverse impact on people, while health and social care messages have not been effectively disseminated to diverse communities. This includes key public health messages like social distancing and testing and contract tracing measures.
Our Neighbourhood Project

The ‘Our Neighbourhood Project’ focusses on the strengths that exist in local areas to create engaged and well-connected communities placing people at the heart of health and wellbeing.
Swansea Dementia and Carer Project

A partnership between SCVS and Swansea GP Clusters, and funded by the West Glamorgan Regional Partnership (ICF Dementia Funding); Swansea Dementia and Carer Project supports people living with Dementia, and carers of people with Dementia, registered in GP Practices in Swansea.
New Ways to Wellbeing

Swansea's Social Prescribing Service. SCVS is working in partnership with 5 SBUHB GP clusters across Swansea to deliver a Social Prescribing Service – ‘New Ways to Wellbeing’.
Health social care and wellbeing facilitator

The SCVS Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Facilitator provides a link between the Third Sector, SBU Health Board and the Public to ensure the strategic direction of the Health Board is supported co-productively, working with the Third and Public Sectors, and with members of the public.

Involve

Involve has a variety of schemes that engage people in need in Swansea. Involve recruit, train and support volunteers to be in a befriending/ Independent visitor role on a one to one or in a group setting to meet the needs of individual children, young people, families, adults with various needs or older people.
Membership

SCVS are governed by a Board of Trustees made up of representatives of local third sector organisations in membership, and co-opted people with specialist skills and experience, ensuring that the support we offer is relevant, needed and valued by the local sector.
