tidyMinds TidyMinds is a website to help young people in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot understand the way they're feeling and find the right advice and support. tidyMinds is a Swansea Bay based website for young people, their families and the professionals who support them, exploring mental health and wellbeing issues, and offering information about where support is available. It focuses primarily on young people aged between 12 – 19, but also hosts some information for young people under 12 and up to 25 years of age. tidyMinds provides a ‘one stop shop’ to access self-help tools and information that young people, their parents and carers can use to support emotional health and wellbeing. Created through a strong partnership of statutory and third sector partners, the resources can also be accessed by professionals working across partner agencies. We hope that it will increase understanding of the services that exist to support young people with their mental health and wellbeing. Amanda Carr, SCVS Director West Glamorgan Regional Partnership Board facilitates the West Glamorgan Regional Partnership, Children and Young People Emotional Health & Well-being Planning Group. This cross-sector partnership brings together professionals, including parent carers, across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. Previously, one of the key challenges identified by partners was that the information available to children, young people, and their families on existing services was poor; and that professionals experience barriers in navigating themselves around a complex system with multiple commissioners of services. The tidyMinds website: Provides a platform for children, young people, their families and the professionals that support them that is secure and reliable, and which provides consistent and up-to date information; Includes high-level advice for children & young people to identify the support they require in relation to their mental health and emotional wellbeing including anxiety, low mood, anger, low self-esteem. Supports the implementation of the Emotional Health & Wellbeing Service Consolidates all existing physical and virtual directories currently available within the region and allows for a more comprehensive mapping of services The Delivery Plan created and agreed by the partnership prioritised the development of services to support children & young people with their emotional wellbeing and mental health. Using funding from the Welsh Government's Mental Health Innovation and Transformation Fund, the partners developed a service model for an Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service to be embedded into primary schools across Swansea Bay.
